The biological meaning of adult is a term used to describe an animal that is with the capacity to reproduce. Adults are considered to be a social notion and a legal one in the human world. Contrary to the concept of a non-adult or "minor" an legal adult is at the point of majority, and therefore is considered an independent, self-sufficient person and responsible. The word "major" can be applied to these individuals. 18.18 is the norm for legal age for adulthood but this could differ depending on country and the status of the law as well psychological maturity.

In the lifespan of human beings adulthood is the point when a person is at the point of complete mental and physical maturity. Adulthood usually begins when a person reaches 21, which is the average age for adults. The middle age stage, which begins approximately 40 years of age and is followed by the onset of old age at about 60 years. The adulthood process is split into three stages that are: early adulthood (18-mid-30s) and mid-30s to mid-60s and the final stage of adulthood, mid-60s to death. Early adulthood is the stage of physical maturity you reach when you attain the age of 20 to 40 years older. The size and weight of our bodies are likely to rise. When we reach early adulthood, the physical capabilities of our bodies reach their maximum. They include strength of muscles and speed of reaction.
